As you know, nine families living in a local apartment complex lost their homes and all of their possessions on Friday. Most of the residents had school-aged (and younger) children. At this time, the Bishop High School Band is organizing a community-supported drive to raise money, food, clothes, toiletries, kitchenware, furniture, toys, and more. Please know that drop-off for donated items will be collected at the Bishop High School Badger Den from 6-10 PM on Thursday, December 17, 2009. Live music, singing, a raffle, bake sale, BBQ plate sale, pictures with Santa and/or a Longhorn steer, and much more will be available that evening.
Please consider cleaning out your closets, storage units, garage, etc… for this very important event. Your support will be greatly appreciated!!!! Many of them lost their Christmas trees and gifts that had already been purchased. If you choose to donate toys, please leave them unwrapped so that they can be distributed appropriately. Furniture will also be accepted. Band students acquired two storage units to house furniture, clothes, etc. for families who may not be in the position to accept those donations at this time.
We have not collected all of the sizes needed but know the ages of a few:
Adults male and female (ages: 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s….various sizes)
